Gene Filiaggi, PT graduated from West Virginia University (WVU) in 1986 with a B.S. degree in Physical Education and Athletic Training. Prior to admission into the Physical Therapy program, he worked for two years as a Certified Athletic Trainer at both WVU and the Sports Medicine Institute in Morgantown, WV.

Upon graduation from the PT program in 1990, he and his family moved to Pittsburgh where he worked as a staff Physical Therapist and Athletic Trainer in Sports Medicine at UPMC St. Margaret's Hospital. After leaving UPMC St. Margaret's in 1997, he worked in various physical therapy clinics in the Pittsburgh area. His most noted position being Clinic Director and Physical Therapist for the North Hills location of Keystone Rehabilitation for 17 years.

Gene joined TSPT in July 2018 working as a staff Physical Therapist in the North Hills office.
