Michael W. Sybert, MD returned to his hometown in August 2022 to join
Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine specializing in total joint
surgery and reconstruction. While attending Mars Area High School, he was a
varsity track letter winner and National Honor Society member. Dr. Sybert
earned his Bachelor's of Science degree in biology and a minor in music
technology from The Pennsylvania State University in 2012. During that
time, he earned four national collegiate medals in Taekwondo, a place on
the U.S. collegiate all-star team, and the title of Penn State Male Club
Athlete of the Year his senior year.
Dr. Sybert then pursued his Medical Degree at the Penn State College of
Medicine in Hershey, where he developed a strong interest in Orthopaedics,
published papers on pediatric elbow fractures and became a leader of the
orthopaedic surgery interest group. Dr. Sybert completed his orthopaedic
surgery residency at Allegheny General Hospital and served as the resident
team physician for Moon High School, evaluating and caring for
student athletes with a variety of sports-related injuries.
After his residency, Dr. Sybert completed the yearlong prestigious Adult
Hip and Knee Reconstruction Fellowship at The Insall Scott Kelly Institute
at New York University. During this advanced fellowship training, Dr.
Sybert co-authored a number of papers on current practices of joint
replacement procedures. He utilizes state-of-the-art technology and modern
techniques in his hip and knee reconstruction surgical practice. Dr. Sybert
has developed an advanced skillset in minimally-invasive direct anterior
total hip arthroplasty, as well as robotic-assisted hip, knee and partial
knee replacements. He has also obtained world-class training in complex
revision hip and knee reconstruction and continues to have a passion for
shoulder and knee arthroscopy, complex fracture care and general
orthopaedics. Dr. Sybert is board eligible by the American Board of
Orthopaedic Surgery and is a member of AAOS.
Dr. Sybert specializes in hip and knee replacement, revision and
reconstruction, and is available to evaluate and treat a variety of general
orthopaedic conditions and work-related injuries.
