Steven E. Kann, M.D. received his Bachelor of Arts degree from The Pennsylvania State University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 1990, graduating summa cum laude and ranking second in his class. He was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society as a junior, a distinction reserved for the top medical students in the country. Dr. Kann completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh, where he received the Charles Sankey Award for Excellence. He then completed a fellowship in hand, upper extremity and microsurgery at Cincinnati Hand Surgery Consultants.
Dr. Kann specializes in conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow and upper extremity, including carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, Dupuytren’s contracture, microsurgery, nerve repairs, and traumatic hand injuries. He is the brother of Jeffrey N. Kann, M.D., making them the only physician brother pair in the practice. Dr. Kann is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
