Daniel M. Kopolovich, M.D. joined Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in September 2024. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Princeton University, where he played four years of varsity football as a defensive back, and his Doctorate of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. Dr. Kopolovich served in the United States Air Force, where he oversaw ground surgical teams, the emergency room, pharmacy and radiology during deployment, and spent three years at a Level II trauma center in Virginia. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at SAUSHEC (San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium) and then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Steadman Philippon Research Institute in Vail, Colorado, where he provided orthopaedic coverage for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Team.

Dr. Kopolovich specializes in orthopaedic sports medicine, including complex knee, shoulder and hip arthroscopy as well as shoulder arthroplasty. He scored in the 98th percentile on the ABOS Part I Exam and has multiple publications in long-term outcomes and biomechanical studies. A native of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, Dr. Kopolovich returned home to Pittsburgh to serve his community. Dr. Kopolovich is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
