Jeffrey N. Kann, M.D. joined Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 1998. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Biology from Vanderbilt University in 1987, graduating summa cum laude, and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 1991, where he served as President of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Kann completed his five-year orthopaedic surgery residency at Rush Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, serving as Chief Resident at both Rush and Shriners Hospital. He then completed a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore under Dr. Mark Myerson.
Dr. Kann specializes in knee surgery, foot and ankle surgery, total knee replacement, work-related injuries, and general orthopaedics. He has served as an orthopaedic consultant for the Pittsburgh Pirates and is a designated UPMC Knee Center of Excellence surgeon at UPMC St. Margaret Hospital. Dr. Kann has published book chapters and journal articles and has served as a Clinical Instructor of Orthopaedics and Foot/Ankle Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Kann is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
