Gerard J. Werries, M.D. joined Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 2003. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh, graduating summa cum laude, and his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997, where he received the Excellence in Collaborative Learning award. Dr. Werries completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Akron General Medical Center and then completed a fellowship in spine surgery at the Harvard Medical System through the Departments of Neurosurgery and Orthopaedics, where he also served as a Clinical Instructor in Orthopaedics at Harvard Medical School.

Dr. Werries specializes in spine surgery, including back and neck injuries, minimally invasive spinal procedures, and complex spinal surgeries. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a member of the American Medical Society and the North American Spine Society. Dr. Werries is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery.
