How the Process Works
Step 1: Insurance & Specialty Pharmacy
Once you agree to proceed, our office orders your injections through a specialty pharmacy designated by your insurance plan. Most plans require your deductible and co-insurance to be satisfied first. You may receive a call or letter from the pharmacy to confirm coverage. Responding promptly helps expedite the process.
Step 2: Processing & Delivery (Up to 4–6 Weeks)
After confirmation, the pharmacy ships your injections to our office. This process is required by your insurance company and can take up to a month. We appreciate your patience and will keep you informed throughout.
Step 3: Scheduling Your Injection
As soon as your injections arrive, we contact you to schedule your appointment. Injections cannot be scheduled until your order is received. During your visit, a Physician Assistant administers the injection in our office, often with ultrasound guidance for precision. Injections can be repeated every 6 months for continued relief, as prescribed by your physician.
This process may take up to 4-6 weeks.
We will call you to schedule as soon as your injections arrive in our office. If you have any questions please contact our Injection Coordinator at (412) 369-4000, ext 332 or via email at injections@tristateortho.com
