Christopher E. Emond, M.D. joined Tri-State Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine in 2013. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Biophysical Chemistry from Dartmouth College and his Doctorate of Medicine from New York Medical College in 2003, where he received the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery Annual Achievement Award. Dr. Emond completed his internship at Boston University Medical Center and his orthopaedic surgery residency in Boston, where he served as Chief Resident in 2008. He then completed a fellowship in sports medicine at the Rothman Institute at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, training under the team physicians for the Philadelphia Eagles, Flyers, 76ers, and the 2008 World Series Champion Phillies, as well as St. Joseph’s University.
Dr. Emond specializes in sports medicine and is subspecialty board certified in the field. He treats shoulder, elbow, hip, knee and ankle injuries in both athletes and non-athletes. He serves on the Heritage Valley Health System Board of Directors and is the Heritage Valley Health System / Sewickley Campus Medical Staff Vice President. Dr. Emond has previously served as team physician for California University of Pennsylvania and Seneca Valley High School. Dr. Emond is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
